Impacted Tooth

A tooth is considered impacted when there is no longer room for it to grow within the dental arch, and is affecting adjoining teeth.

Impacted teeth need to be extracted to restore sufficient space in the jaw. Following surgery patients will likely experience some soreness and swelling as part of the healing process. cold compresses can be used to relieve some of the swelling, and your doctor may prescribe pain medication for you. Take any medications as directed by your doctor, and take care to favor the extraction area, and avoid irritating it.
